Everything we run is a private charter: your group, your route, your times. There is no ticket window and no strangers on board. Visiting families, convention groups, reunions and companies hosting out-of-town guests book us to see Kansas City properly, and the vehicle most of them ask for is the one nobody else in the city has — our classic Boyertown trolley. A typical tour is about four hours with a group of around fourteen.
A Kansas City trolley tour
The Boyertown trolley seats thirty to thirty-four and turns a city tour into an event in itself. The classic loop runs from the Country Club Plaza up through Westport and the Crossroads to Union Station and Crown Center, with a stop at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art — the single most-visited stop in our tour records. Wedding parties use the same trolley for photographs, which is why it is booked well ahead on spring and autumn weekends.
Museums, Union Station and the Plaza
The Nelson-Atkins, Union Station and Crown Center are the three stops that appear most in our sightseeing bookings, usually in one afternoon. Dinner at Pierpont’s inside Union Station is a regular way to end the day, and the Plaza is where most evening tours finish. Legends, Kansas Speedway and the casinos
On the Kansas side, groups staying at Great Wolf Lodge and the Legends hotels book us for race weekends at Kansas Speedway and for evenings at Hollywood Casino next door — a short run from our garage in Bonner Springs. North of the river, Ameristar, Argosy and Bally’s are regular casino runs from downtown and Northland hotels, often as a round trip with a set return time so nobody has to watch the clock.
Visiting groups and conventions
We pick up sightseeing groups at the Loews Kansas City, Hotel Kansas City, the Hilton Country Club Plaza and the Crown Center hotels, and we run university visitors between Lawrence and the city — Capitol Federal Hall on the KU campus is a regular stop. Companies hosting clients usually book a Sprinter or a limo coach for a two- to four-hour city loop between meetings and dinner.
